Luis Enrique (World Music Singer) - Age, Family, Bio

Known as "El Principe de la Salsa," this popular Nicaraguan salsa romantica singer began his rise to fame in the last years of the 1980s. He won a Grammy Award for his 2009 Ciclos album and earned a Grammy nomination for his earlier recording, Luces del Alma.

Before Fame

His debut album, Amor de Media Noche, was released in 1987. A year later, he recorded an internationally acclaimed album titled Amor y Alegria.

Trivia

His 1990 recording, Mi Mundo, won a Lo Nuestro Award for Best Tropical or Salsa Album.

Born Luis Enrique Mejia Lopez, he grew up in Nicaragua.
