Selena Gomez celebrates Taylor Swift's birthday for 'damage control', say fans
Selena Gomez has been spotted out with bestie Taylor Swift yet again in New York City, as they step out to celebrate the Love Story singer’s 34th birthday. It’s the second time the pair have been seen out and about together since the Disney alum came under fire. Selena Gomez ‘fired back’ at fans after announcing her relationship with music producer, Benny Blanco. Of course, fans have something to say.
The music stars have been friends since 2008, after meeting through their exes, Nick and Joe Jonas. As neither partnership lasted, Selena Gomez has previously joked she and Taylor Swift‘s friendship was “the best thing we got out of those relationships.”

Taking to the streets of New York, the pair looked stylish and cozy, as they braced the cold winter weather.
Gomez stunned in an all black fashion look, covering her skintight hot pants and sheer black tights with an oversized coat.
Taylor, who appeared to skip Time Magazine’s Person of the Year gala to celebrate her birthday with friends, opted for more of a colorful look, with a tanned leather coat. The besties were all smiles as they stepped out hand in hand.
It seems she didn’t grab her go-to tweed jacket, that is Taylor Swift‘s closet staple.
The pair were also seen out in New York City over the weekend. It came after Selena ‘threatened to leave Instagram’, after ‘firing back’ to a number of fans when confirming her romance with Benny Blanco.
Now, fans say the frequent sightings with Taylor is for “damage control”.
“Taylor Swift trying to do damage control for her messy best friend,” said one.
“Taylor keeping an eye out for Selena when she gets in trouble,” another commented.
A third wrote: “The fact that y’all predicted this pap-walk is so funny to me.”
However, others were happy to see the girls together again, as one commented: “They’re so pretty ugh bestie goals.”

It looks like Selena was feeling loved up after her night out with her girl gang, as she took to her Instagram stories to post a picture with her new boo.
The black and white pic shows the Disney alum with a huge smile on her face, with her hand around Benny as his head can be seen resting on her.
The Lose You To Love Me singer recently confirmed she had been dating the 35-year-old secretly for six months.
Benny was reportedly present at Selena’s 31st birthday party earlier this year and worked with her on her latest single, Single Soon.
